This historic 14-room Greek Revival inn was built in 1850 by Chappell Hill's founder and first postmaster. Through the years,it has provided food and lodging to weary travelers whether arriving on horseback or by stagecoach or by automobile. Aftersuffering an era of disrepair, it was brought back to life in 1976 with a full restoration to its original form. It was at that timethat The Stagecoach Inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property also includes a charming two-story coach house being used as a guest cottage.
